National Camera Day…Really?

by on June 29, 2016

I had no idea until I saw a few hashtags floating around. Who knew there was such a day? Why is there such a day? No really, why? After a brief search, I couldn’t find any origin behind this day – June 29th. So why the hell not is what I am guessing the answer is.

Location scouting around rural Alberta with the Fuji X-T1 and 10-24mm ƒ4 lens. Abandoned stucture after sunrise with lens flare. VSCO edits.

Not exactly a day to celebrate, however I did pick up the Fujifilm X-T1 battery grip from my folks’ today (better known as my online shopping warehouse, oops). I pounced on it when I saw a great price listed from Amazon.ca. So there’s that. Yup.

Update: the grip is complete rubbish and I’ve since returned it. Fuji can do better …

Oh, I am going to be recording another fabulous episode of my podcast, Shutter Time With Sid and Mac with my co-host, Mac, and our good pal, Antonio, who is a co-host on the Street Shots Photography podcast, later this evening, so that’s even better. Yeah! I’m sure the topic of photography and cameras will come up at some point during the show. Ha.

See you in the field!
