About Sid

Alberta photographer and safety pro, driven by wildlife and nature, happiest when I’m behind the lens. Since 2011, I’ve also been rocking the mic as a co-host of the kickin’ photography podcast, Shutter Time with Sid and Mac.

I’m a lover of light and fully embrace the creative impact it has over our wide open prairie landscapes and Canadian Rockies. Whether it’s a farmer’s crop of golden wheat, a working pumpjack in the field, roaming wildlife near a body of water, or the peaks of our rocky mountain ranges bathed in orange and pink, my goal is to capture its influence on our outdoors.

Growing up, our vacations consisted of visiting Alberta and BC’s Okanagan and it was during these travels my connection and interest in our outdoor treasures were formed and I started to notice the power of light. This renewed passion keeps me heading back to the wilderness for more. There is no place I’d rather be.

Being a strong supporter of wildlife conservation efforts, I am becoming more involved through my photography. I truly believe in and practice the ‘leave no trace’ philosophy of nature photography and wildlife viewing and encourage others to follow suit.

I enjoy communicating with companies and individuals via my photography and I hope to continue to bring the beauty of the wondrous outdoors directly to you.

If you’d like to be in touch, please drop me a note and I’ll respond straight away!
